Robotic Surgery

Robotic surgery is a minimally invasive technique in which instruments are inserted into the body through tiny incisions and attached to the arms of the robot. The surgeon sits at a computer console nearby and manipulates the instruments remotely. A patient-side assistant exchanges the instruments as needed and provides assistance throughout the procedure. Some of the significant advantages to this approach are magnified 3D visibility, better control of fine movements and improved flexibility of instruments.

Although the use of robotic technology during Gynecologic and Urologic surgery has been around for years, its use in General surgery is now growing. Thanks to the development of specialized robotic instruments, a wide variety of our surgical procedures are able to be performed with the use of this state of the art technology.
