Other Specialties

In addition to his expertise with bariatric surgery and hiatal hernia, Dr. Finley also performs the following using minimally invasive techniques:

  • Laparoscopic Inguinal hernia repair
  • Laparoscopic surgery for GERD
  • Endoscopy including both upper (EGD) and lower (colonoscopy)
  • Laparoscopic colectomy, which means removal of a portion of the large intestine
  • Diagnostic laparoscopy for adhesions, to treat scar tissue which has formed in the abdomen
  • Splenectomy or removal of the spleen
  • Adrenalectomy, or removal of the adrenal gland
  • Gastrectomy, removal of all or part of the stomach
  • Laparoscopic cholecystectomy or removal of the gallbladder
  • Robotic Surgery

The fact that these are all performed using minimally invasive technique means that only tiny incisions are used, and Dr. Finley views and works inside the abdominal cavity with tiny scopes and instruments. The patient benefits because Dr. Finley is not performing ‘open’ surgery, which results in a long and painful recuperative process after abdominal muscles and nerves are pried back to visualize the area being operated upon.
